Welcome to the Colorado Film Institute

The Colorado Film Institute is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization dedicated to fostering independent cinema. The Vail Film Institute’s primary initiatives are to promote the art of film by providing a screening platform for aspiring filmmakers and by providing a gathering place for film enthusiasts. Additionally, the Colorado Film Institute fosters new filmmakers by providing education, industry expertise, and industry access.

The Colorado Film Institute produces the Vail Film Festival, an annual festival celebrating independent film and filmmakers. The Colorado Film Institute strives to encourage artistic innovation, promote new and creative filmmaking, and foster discourse about independent film and other forms of media which challenge and entertain. The 2006 Vail Film Festival will be held in Vail, CO, from March 30 through April 2, 2005.

2005 Vail Film Festival

The 2005 VFF brought an estimated 10,000 people to Vail for a four-day celebration of independent film.
